The Timeless Beauty of Black and White Photography

I generally include black and white images in every set of wedding images I present to my clients, but the black and white’s I present Mike and Ashley from their wedding are going to be quite special. For the first time, pro photographers are able to use state-of-the-art software to simulate the organic beauty of true black and white *film* photography. I’ve had a ball working with this technology on Mike and Ashley’s wedding. Enjoy this preview, and look for the complete set in the next few days!

Mike and Ashley are Married!

Downtown Ft. Worth seemed to be the center of the universe today. The annual Stock Show parade meandered through downtown, and thousands of cheerleaders converged on the convention center for a major competition. But the sweetest event, by far, was Mike and Ashley’s wedding. From the historic Downtown Hilton to the Marty Leonard Chapel, today was a celebration of the union of two wonderful families. Carla and I are so honored to have been a small part of Mike and Ashley’s wedding day, and we hope these images will always bring them warm, sweet memories. Enjoy the preview!

Bobby and Amy are married!

Photographers see lots of amazing things through the lenses of their cameras. This weekend, I saw two wonderful families, a beautiful young couple, love and tears of joy, and an awesome respect for the institution of marriage. These are really special people, and when they come together, it’s a magical thing to behold. Congratulations to Bobby and Amy, and to those that love them. Enjoy this preview of a joyous new union!

Best of 2011

I’m not a big fan of going back and reviewing past work. Honestly, I get mad at myself because I see all sorts of ways that I could have done better. With that said, I really care about most of the people you see below, and I had such an emotional time going back through 2011, reliving the time I spent with each of these people and thinking about how wonderful and unique each of them are.

Thank you so much, to all of you, for the opportunities you gave me. I will always be grateful to each of you.

Happy New Years! May 2012 be your best year ever!

PS. I’m not really done with 2011. I have a wonderful wedding coming up on New Years Eve, and I’ll have a special blog post for it in the next few days!

The Acevedo’s – Farmers Branch, TX Family Photography

I promised on Facebook yesterday that I had a really special session coming up. I had no idea how special it would actually be. I can’t describe how it feels to be invited into someone’s home to take images of their family at one of the most important moments in their lives. The Acevedo’s are expecting their second child in a few weeks, and they wanted photos to remember this special time. You can feel the joy and excitement in their home. As always, I hope I managed to capture a hint of that joy. Thank you to the Acevedo’s! Enjoy this preview…
